Summary
A major European intergovernmental organization had built a network of conference rooms across remote sites, linked by Cisco HDX 8000 videoconferencing codecs, but was capped at two interpretation channels with high integration and staffing costs. KUDO made the setup interoperable, unlocking more channels from its existing rooms, and kept daily bilingual meetings running throughout COVID-19. The organization still values KUDO’s ability to interconnect multiple audio channels via a single PC, plus a private cloud option.
The Challenge
Holding hybrid meetings with two interpretation channels across a network of conference rooms linked by Cisco HDX 8000 codecs — at a real cost in integration spend and the staff needed to run it day to day.
The organization needed:
- More interpretation channels across its distributed conference room network
- Interoperability with its existing codec infrastructure, without a costly rebuild
- Lower integration and staffing costs
- Continuity for multilingual meetings through COVID-19

The Solution
KUDO made the organization’s existing conference room network interoperable rather than replacing it — breaking the two-channel cap and unlocking more interpretation channels from the same physical rooms. That proved critical during COVID-19, keeping daily bilingual meetings running when much else was disrupted. Since the pandemic, remote interpreter HUB use has dropped off, but two capabilities remain central: single-PC audio interconnection and the private cloud option.
