Summary
With the Canadian Official Languages Act mandating organizations to offer communication in both English and French today, the Canadian branch of one of the world’s biggest consumer goods brands approached KUDO looking for a way to run their internal company meetings in multiple languages simultaneously. This was particularly important for their quarterly All Hands meetings, which bring 110 employees together both on-site and remotely to discuss important company topics and announcements.
With speakers alternating between French and English, and given the high-stakes nature of the discussions, KUDO provided professional language interpreters to interpret the content live into each respective language. The result was a more inclusive experience for employees, who had the choice to follow the meeting in either English or French in real time.
The Challenge
Present in 180 countries, this leading food and confectionery company employs around 140,000 associates worldwide. As a truly international company, navigating the challenges of communicating across departments and divisions compelled them to seek a long-term solution for running internal events and meetings in the language of every employee’s choice. Nowhere was this more important than in their Canadian branch, where the law mandates that communication be provided in both French and English.
To ensure the highest quality interpretation, the company chose to use professional language interpreters from KUDO’s award-winning Marketplace. With remote technical support from the KUDO team, all participants were able to access live, two-way interpretation and captions on their device via our native integration with Microsoft Teams.
