Summary
In September 2024, Microsoft hosted the SMC Asia Tech Summit in Singapore, bringing together Microsoft staff and partners from across the region. KUDO has been supporting Microsoft globally for three years, driving growth, productivity, and inclusivity in meetings and events with interpretation solutions, including the KUDO app for Microsoft Teams.
This Tech Summit was the largest in-person event KUDO had supported in Asia for Microsoft, providing interpretation for the keynote and 8 breakout rooms. KUDO delivered real-time interpretation in Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean, ensuring every attendee could participate in their preferred language. Additionally, KUDO AI Speech Translator provided real-time English captions for the keynote screen to enhance accessibility for all attendees.
The Challenge
With participants from various countries across Asia, Microsoft needed a reliable solution to break down language barriers and create a seamless experience for all attendees. The primary challenge was ensuring that participants could fully engage with and understand the content, maximizing this valuable learning opportunity.
Before turning to KUDO, managing live interpretation in multiple languages at large-scale events posed costly and time-consuming logistical challenges. Additionally, there was the complexity of providing a high-quality experience for remote participants joining from other countries.
KUDO addressed these challenges by offering real-time, human-powered interpretation, ensuring full participation and engagement from all attendees, no matter their location or language preference.

The Solution
KUDO’s seamless interpretation services enabled all participants to experience Microsoft’s keynote and training sessions in their preferred language, enhancing both engagement and accessibility. For those attending in person, accessing the live interpretation was as simple as scanning a QR code on their mobile device, which provided audio and captions in their chosen language.
For remote attendees, KUDO provided live streaming, allowing them to join the event virtually while still benefiting from real-time interpretation. Whether in Singapore or joining from afar, all participants could engage fully with the speakers, presentations, and discussions.
By using KUDO’s interpretation solutions, Microsoft increased the event’s value, fulfilling their commitment to inclusivity and fostering a more connected, collaborative experience for staff and partners across Asia.
