Summary
With a growing and diverse congregation, Stockbridge Community Church recently implemented KUDO AI Speech Translator to ensure that all members can fully engage with sermons and services in their preferred language. By offering live-translated audio and subtitles, including closed captions in English for members with hearing impairments, the church has significantly enhanced accessibility and inclusivity for its community.
The Challenge
Stockbridge Community Church faced difficulties in reaching its foreign-language-speaking congregation. While many non-English-speaking members could follow parts of the services, they often struggled to comprehend and connect with the message. With an increasingly diverse demographic in the local area, the church recognized the need for a real-time translation solution to better serve its community.
Additionally, the church holds multiple services each week, and ensuring that every attendee—both in-person and online—had access to the message in their own language was a growing concern. The leadership team sought a solution that would be easy to use, cost-effective, and well-supported technically.

The Solution
Today, Stockbridge Community Church uses KUDO AI for real-time translation during its three main Sunday services and a monthly Wednesday service. Attendees can access AI-translated audio and captions directly from their smartphones by scanning QR codes printed inside the church and displayed on presentation slides at the beginning of each service. This seamless integration eliminates the need for downloading additional apps or creating accounts, ensuring a smooth and accessible experience for all.
To maximize participation, the church has actively communicated this new feature to its congregation, particularly reaching out to non-English-speaking families so they come prepared with headphones. Additionally, a camera has been added to improve online engagement, and links to KUDO streams are now included in the descriptions of the church’s YouTube and Facebook livestreams, allowing remote attendees to benefit from real-time translations as well. The result? A more connected and accessible worship experience for all.
