KUDO Partners with Universidad de Valladolid for Groundbreaking Machine Interpreting Research

KUDO Partners with Univesidad de Valladolid

(Thursday 30 January 2025, New York)KUDO is proud to announce its collaboration with the Universidad de Valladolid in Spain on an innovative research project exploring Machine Interpreting (MI). This partnership marks a significant step toward understanding and evaluating the potential of speech-to-speech translation in real-world applications.

The collaboration provides researchers in translation and interpreting studies access to cutting-edge Machine Interpreting technology, enabling them to assess its quality using robust, multidimensional methodologies.

As MI becomes more prevalent in real-world scenarios, independent evaluation frameworks are essential to ensure its fair, responsible, and effective use. At KUDO, we are thrilled to support academic initiatives that advance the field of interpreting. By providing access to tools like KUDO AI and the KUDO Interpreter Console, we aim to deepen knowledge about transformative technologies that:

  • Support professional interpreters in their demanding remote work.
  • Enhance accessibility by breaking down language barriers for users worldwide.

This collaboration with Universidad de Valladolid is just the beginning. KUDO is also working with Rikkyo University in Japan to explore the unique challenges and opportunities of Japanese language translation in meeting and event settings. Additional projects with universities around the world are currently underway.

If you are a university researcher or represent an international institution with an active or future research project in Machine Interpreting (focused on real-world applications) or Computer-Assisted Interpreting, we encourage you to reach out.
