(Thursday, May 16 2024, New York City, NY) – In another remarkable display of innovation, KUDO secures a new patent certification from the United States Patent Office (USPO) for its groundbreaking Remote Interpretation Platform. (US Patent No.: US 11,960,788B2)
This patent, initially filed during the inception of our KUDO core platform, revolutionizes the landscape of multilingual communication in live presentations, meetings, and events. At the time of filing, video conferencing platforms lacked the functionality to seamlessly provide translation and ‘Relay’ capabilities, making KUDO’s solution a pioneer in the field.
“The granting of this Patent underscores KUDO’s leading role in the language technology sector. However, our vision for KUDO extends beyond mere recognition; it’s about empowering individuals to communicate and comprehend in their native languages,” says Fardad Zabetian, CEO of KUDO. “As an entrepreneur not native to English, this holds personal significance. Nobody should feel restricted by their lack of language proficiency. With KUDO, our aim is to empower individuals and businesses alike by making language accessible to all.”
The method behind the technology facilitates live language translation during presentations, meetings and events, where users can effortlessly access the interpretation service by scanning a QR code with their mobile device.
Traditional interpretation systems, such as those found in international conferences like the United Nations, often require specialized hardware and close physical proximity between interpreters and participants. This limits the number of languages accommodated and poses practical challenges for users, including using receivers or other hardware solutions with no auto-sync function with the presentation while changing languages.
KUDO’s invention addresses these limitations by enabling users to easily switch translation languages on their device during live presentations. The process begins with a server capturing audio inputs from presenters, deciphering them according to chosen target languages by users, and promptly relaying translated audio back to users.
Utilizing electronic devices managed by presenters and users, the system establishes connections to a central server through networks. Once a user specifies their language preference, the server identifies a suitable interpreter based on the selected source and target languages. Subsequently, the interpreter translates the presentation audio, delivering it back to the user’s device in real time. In instances where users switch languages mid-presentation, the system dynamically selects a new interpreter to ensure continuous, seamless translation.
This innovation, which stems from the KUDO Platform, enhances accessibility to multilingual presentations, circumventing the need for specialized hardware and enabling users to effortlessly tailor their language experience during live events. The cloud-based swift switching mechanism introduced by KUDO redefines the possibilities of real-time interpretation, setting new standards for global communication.
