(Thursday 30 May, 2024, New York City, NY) – For the first time, InfoComm 2024 will be a fully language-accessible event using AI speech translation, thanks to a partnership with KUDO. The content on eighteen stages of the biggest professional AV trade show in North America will be available to attendees in multiple languages by scanning a QR code from their smartphones or tablets.
InfoComm is the largest professional audiovisual trade show in North America, showcasing thousands of products for audio, conferencing and collaboration, display, video, streaming, control, digital signage, Enterprise IT, security, VR, higher education, and live events. This year, the show will also be focusing heavily on AI and its growing role in the AV world through the addition of an AI pavilion, after growing demand for AI accessibility and productivity solutions from end users.
“Making our sessions available in all languages allows us to go that extra mile in the accessibility of great ideas, content, and innovation,” says Annette Sandler, Sr. Director, Live Content US/Canada of AVIXA. “We are thrilled about our collaboration with KUDO as we join forces to ensure that this event reaches and engages a broader audience than ever before.”
The gap between the IT and AV industries is increasingly being bridged with AI today, particularly around the topic of accessibility. This will form the basis of Fardad Zabetian’s presentation – ‘Language Accessibility with AI: the Untapped Opportunity for AV Integrators’ – which will take place on Wednesday 12 June, 1pm, room IC07. In it, KUDO’s CEO will be unveiling the company’s latest innovation live in an immersive demo in AI speech translation technology, and show how this solution can be applied to any physical, online, or hybrid meeting space.
“Uniting speech translation tech with the AV realm feels like completing a circle,” says Fardad. “When I launched KUDO, transitioning to SaaS brought numerous benefits: steady annual revenue, improved margins, and independence from a supply chain. I always knew this path would circle back to AV though. Now, I eagerly anticipate collaborating with AV integrators to mold the future of public spaces – conference rooms, hotel foyers, council chambers, museums, and more, for a new norm in which the language you speak – or don’t – bears no impact on your personal or professional experience of the world”.
Since its inception in 2017, KUDO has been propelled by a vision to empower individuals to understand and be understood in their own language. This vision drove the company to pioneer the only platform-agnostic interpreter marketplace in the world, connecting users with a curated network of over 12,000 on-demand interpreters.
Subsequently, it led to the in-house development of KUDO AI, an AI-driven speech-to-speech translator. By 2023, KUDO AI was awarded two patents from the United States Patent Office (USPO) for its innovative methodology and components, with client usage growing month-on-month.
Attendees of ISE 2024 are also warmly invited to visit KUDO at booth CS216, where Fardad and the team will be available to showcase the solution on-site.
