(Tuesday, February 20 2024, New York City, NY) – Amid the global shift towards more inclusive, engaging, and global-reaching in-person events, Economist Impact has chosen to partner with KUDO – the leading provider of multilingual solutions for business communication – for their upcoming 4th edition of Technology for Change Asia. The partnership aims to spread language accessibility to the world’s most linguistically rich but fragmented region by offering attendees AI-powered live interpretation in Cantonese and Mandarin, in addition to the original conference language, English.
The Technology for Change Asia event, scheduled to take place in Hong Kong on February 27-28 2024, is set to gather more than 300 solutions-oriented leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region. With a focus on impactful discussions, the event will cover key topics such as the role of the Greater Bay Area in applying technology for impact, the influence of AI on business and economies, the future of work, and how technology can enhance Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) programs.
In this context, KUDO’s AI technology will enable all keynote addresses and panel discussions to be accessible to attendees in both Cantonese and Mandarin, ensuring a seamless and inclusive experience for the diverse audience. This enhancement aligns with the event’s commitment to fostering collaboration, innovation, and positive change in the ever-evolving technology landscape – a commitment fully shared by the KUDO.
“KUDO is built on the vision of creating a world where everyone can understand and be understood, regardless of their linguistic background – a world where English proficiency (or the lack thereof) is not a barrier to realizing projects,” says Fardad Zabetian, CEO of KUDO. “We have a growing client base in APAC already and know how important language accessibility is for these businesses to communicate both within and outside of the region. This commitment aligns with the event’s mission to showcase breakthrough technology that resonates with socially-conscious consumers, attract and retain talent, and contribute to positive social change.”
“Asia-Pacific has unique challenges, but new technologies put resilient economic growth and a more sustainable future within reach” adds Sarah Hoare, Head of Marketing, APAC events at Economist Impact. An expert speaker line-up featuring the founder of Wikipedia, Jimmy Wales, Michio Kaku, and leaders from Intel, AIA Group, Lenovo, PayMe HSBC, and more will deep-dive into how transformative technologies could reduce digital and financial inequality, transform the future of work and talent, and shape the future use of artificial intelligence.”
Fardad Zabetian will also be joining the speaker line-up, with a talk on Wednesday 28 February at 10:35 am on the topic of ‘Breaking language barriers across and beyond APAC with AI’. His presentation will explore the transformative impact of AI speech translation technology, overcoming once insurmountable language barriers for overseas businesses in Asia. The session aims to go beyond enhancing productivity and fostering inclusion to delve into the profound implications of AI speech technology for Asian businesses, making the region’s diverse linguistic landscape accessible with a click and envisioning a future where businesses operate seamlessly in a language-agnostic environment – a stride towards the next new ‘norm’ in global commerce.
