24% Increase in Translation Quality and New Languages on KUDO AI v.3.0

(Thursday 31 October. New York City, NY) – In their latest round of product updates, the KUDO team once again puts user experience front and center by rolling out a new AI translation engine that delivers even higher levels of accuracy and fluency, with reduced latency. This means that users of KUDO AI can expect to participate in meetings and events in their chosen language via audio and captions that sound more natural and that are rendered more quickly, whether they are using the solution online, in-person, or hybrid.  

Since launching KUDO AI Speech Translator in January 2023, KUDO’s R&D team has twice replaced major components of the technological process that allows a person’s speech to enter in one language and emerge in another. This is to ensure that they are always leveraging the most up-to-date technology available, in a rapidly evolving machine translation landscape.

Users of KUDO AI can now expect:

1. Higher translation quality. For translation from English to Spanish, French, German, and Latin/Greek rooted languages, accuracy and fluency levels have gone up by 24%. Equally impressive, KUDO AI v.3.0 is seeing a 16% improvement approximately for Asian languages like Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese, which are being increasingly requested to make live events and meetings in the APAC region language-accessible.
2. A greater selection of languages. KUDO’s approach to adding new languages to KUDO AI has always differed by focusing on translation quality, not quantity of the languages available overall. That is why new languages are released from Beta to regular options only after they have passed rigorous testing criteria. Alongside increased translation quality, KUDO AI v.3.0 now supports 40 speaking languages (languages that translations can be made from), with the ability to add new languages upon a client’s request. This gives users more flexibility on featuring international speakers in their meetings and events.
3. Reduced latency. As a reminder, latency in language interpretation is the delay between one person speaking and the other person hearing their translated voice. KUDO’s most recent AI engine upgrade is now seeing approximately one second faster translations. While this might not sound like a lot on paper, every second counts in a live meeting or event in which participants are continuously speaking between themselves, with others following in the language of their choice. 

In November, product updates will continue with a new, customizable display option for in-person events during which clients wish to project translated or closed captions on a screen for the entire audience. Ten completely new languages will also be rolled out across all KUDO products in November, so stay tuned.
